Building an Online Business From Scratch - By Joel Nickerson

There are a lot of people who could use a little bit of extra cash from time to time. Unfortunately, they may not have the resources that are necessary to start up a business, especially if they are doing so in the off-line world. One of the best things about starting an Internet business is that you can do so without any money coming out of your pocket. Of course, it always helps if you put a little bit of money into your business when you start but the Internet allows you to get going even on a zero dollar budget.

The easiest way for you to do this is to combine free blogs at blogger.com with article marketing. This 1-2 combination is not only going to be absolutely free for you to do, it is also one of the easiest ways to begin making money with no Internet marketing experience whatsoever. Let's take a look at the two aspects necessary to get the ball rolling so that you can see where to take it from here.

Blogger.com is a blogging service that is owned by Google. They allow you to come on and to create a blog for free and you can post any information that you want on it. If you have a product or service that you want to promote, perhaps through clickbank.com, you can write a review about the product and post it on blogger. Of course, you would want to include your affiliate link so anybody that wants to check out the product would make you a commission.

Getting people to come to your blog is a little bit more difficult. You need to do keyword research and find keywords which have low competition with Google but are related to what you are offering. Write an article about each of these keywords and then submit those articles to one of the popular article directories online. The real key is to be informative whenever you're writing without pushing the product too hard. At the end of your article, you will have an opportunity to give a little bit of information about yourself along with a link to your website.

The traffic that comes from article marketing is free and sending them through a free website like blogger is going to help you earn money without putting any money out of your pocket to start. Just make sure that you put a little bit of what you are earning back into your business so that you can see it grow regularly.

The Truth About Discussion Forums - Is Everything As Good As it Sounds? - By Chandra Babu

Discussion and chat forums are becoming increasingly popular these days. The reasons are not hard to find. Almost everyone seems to have an opinion on almost everything. Add to that the need to air one's opinion, and the logical result is a discussion forum. What characterizes discussion forums, and is everything hunky dory about them?

Eclectic Interests:

Discussion forums have people talking about virtually everything under the sun. The variety of topics discussed is so huge that it would need an encyclopedia to present a comprehensive list. They include movies, music, television, interesting pictures, astrology, health tips, beauty, yoga, self employment, jobs, making money, the Internet, graphics, programming, software, games, home business, shopping, books, cooking, gardening, sports, and travel, and that's just the tip of the ice berg.

Headlines:

Current topics intrigue people a lot, and they are soon to form opinions. For instance, a headline such as "Indians, Chinese top world's rich list" can spawn hours of discussion, as would another headline which reads: "Shuttle delivers Japanese lab to space station".

Box Office Draws:

Movies draw people by the hordes, and it shouldn't surprise anyone that Hollywood tops the billing. The fact that Indiana Jones has delivered $56 million in 2 weeks at the box office can keep talkers busy for several more weeks.

Hobby Horse:

Hobbies and games have their own following. Astrology in particular appears to have a worldwide following, with people apparently obsessed by personality traits ascribed to those born under particular star signs.

Differences Of Opinion And Abuse

However, discussion forums have evolved some rules of etiquette that talkers would do well to follow. Often, polite talk transform quickly into abuse, especially when there's a difference of opinion on a crucial topic such as the comparative merits of sportspersons, or the arrest for DUI of a popular celebrity.

Need For Moderation:

Forums have their rules and exhort members to follow them meticulously. Despite the best efforts of moderators, things often get out of hand, and 'members' of talk forums are shown the door for overstepping the line of correctness.
Sensitive Topics:

Religion and politics are particularly sensitive areas of discussion that can result in much bad blood and may require greater moderation. This problem gets exacerbated when some members of the forum 'gang up' and try to take the discussion in a particular direction of their choosing. This makes the moderator's job even more difficult, as he or she cannot ban everyone from the forum.

Timely Intervention:

The moderator's job in a discussion forum is comparable with that of a referee in an international sporting event such as soccer. He must keep the game going while insuring that he keeps a tight rein on the direction in which the game is proceeding by restraining the players.

He must be quick to penalize an erring player, and resolve a potentially troublesome situation by foreseeing it before it happens.

Discussion forums can be a lot of fun, if participants are able to accept that not everyone is likely to agree with them on everything, and like them, others are entitled to their opinions.

Free Ways to Get Free Traffic to Your Website - By Seree Woradechjamroen

Every now and then, I make a round of various online marketing related discussion boards and I am amazed at how much of the questions are about generating traffic to a website. Obviously, there are the classical ways of attracting visitors to a website such as pay per click advertising, but how can you attract visitors to your website for free? Well let me give you a couple of ways that you can do just that.

One of the best ways to get more traffic to your website for free is by submitting articles to relevant article directories. Articles are one of the best ways to promote a website because it implies that the person who visited your website actually read some of your material and was interested in reading more of it. Articles are also a great way to build back links to your site and improve its rating with search engines. Another great thing about articles is that they can be used by other webmaster in their ezines and/or sites and depending on the sites or ezines popularity, a single article can bring thousands of visitors to your site.

Another free way of getting more traffic to your website without spending money is by signing up for a social site account or with any other social networking site and start looking for people who would be potentially interested in your website. But you have to be careful not to sound too spammy in your interactions; members tend to despise people who go on social networking sites for commercial reasons only, so try to build meaningful relationships with members of various groups related to your niche before pitching anything to them.

Free classified ads services can be useful to promote your site, but make sure you list it in the right category. Subscribe to various discussion boards related to your niche and put a link to your site in your signature. If you provide meaningful comments on the board, I can guarantee that a lot of people will visit your site to see what more you have to say.

Great content is what usually drives visitors to a website, but what would you say if I told you that you can get your visitors to add content to your site for you? You can do that by adding a discussion board to your site or even an article directory. If you have a blog, write controversial posts to stir up conversation and encourage your visitors to add comments, and free content, to your website at the same time.

I could go on and on on how you can attract more visitors to your website, but if I was to give you only one piece of advice, it would be to sign up to a good internet marketing forum, they are populated by tons of experts who will be more than happy to show you even more ways to get more traffic to your website.

How to Drive Traffic to Website Without Too Much Effort - By Pieter Van Der Gulik

You must have heard it before - Get Massive Traffic to Your Website! There is a way to do that which is beyond the hype and hustle of what most Internet "gurus" sell you in their e-books. It simply takes strategy, time and a few smart steps to transform your visitors from 1-2 a day to the massive traffic that you desire.

When it comes to traffic, repeat traffic indicates interest. Not just fleeting, tire kicking interest you get the first time one visits a website, but genuine interest in your topic, product or service. With repeated exposure, a person begins to feel more familiar with it. With that familiarity comes a level of comfort that a potential customer has which makes him a purchaser.

Getting repeat visitors is easy if you know how. One way of breaking down your visits is to assume that about 250 unique visitors a day are new people who have never been to your website before. What you will want to do is leverage this traffic and have them visit your site over and over again.

How to accomplish this is relatively simple. For example, you could take actions like having people sign up for your newsletter or you could offer a free gift. People love free gifts. If they do buy something from you, direct them to a thank you page with a surprise, unannounced free gift. People love surprises. As such, they will return again and again to your website to see if you are giving away anything else for free.

Try to catch their attention when they first arrive at your site. If you want them to return again and again, get their attention. Follow-up traffic is generated by emails going to people and reminding them that you, your products and services and your super cool website is out there. Make sure that every time they arrive something catches their eye or builds their curiosity. If they have taken action and you are sending them follow up emails via an auto responder, when they arrive at your website, there should always be something new and interesting for them to read, play with or consider.

Be sure to offer them something unique. It cannot be something that they will find on any other website on the Internet. It should be something that only you can provide or it should be packaged uniquely so that customers will be genuinely surprised when presented with it. In other words, it should not be readily available anywhere else online.

Even if you have managed to get 1000 visitors to your website on a steady basis, they should be made up of people who are genuinely interested in your topic matter. They should not be general visitors, but people who really like the subject that you are delivering. The only difference between you and your visitor is that you are putting up a website about something you are both passionately interested in.

Your visitors have to be very interested in your products or services in order to surf back to your website. If you create a community where 1000 like-minded people can gather and get news, info and tips on your niche market, you will naturally have people who buy from you in the end. So, make use of these tips and drive traffic to website without much effort today!
